これは自分たちの特徴を、デュオの今を？敢えて同じ曲をやることで際立たせよう、ということでしょう。それぐらい自信がある、と。 企画ものと受け取られる可能性がありますから（実際、My Funny Valentineからはじまっていること、ジャケットはIntermodulation、と企画モノではあります）、これはかなりチャレンジング。1962 -> 2002年の40年でどれぐらいJazzは進んだのか、今やってみせるよ、と。

Undercurrent/IntermodulationにおけるJim Hallの演奏がよいものの基準になってしまっているので、僕の判断は宛になりませんが、それでも匹敵する演奏だと感じます。Undercurrent収録のスローテンポな曲が持つ、漂うような感じを持っていて、コンテンポラリーな響きもあり。 何より比較すると録音がよすぎる、というのがあり、これもかなりのアドバンテージ。 単にハイファイだからいいというわけでもないのですが、そこは40年の進化があります。
